I wrote this when I was a teenager—around 14 to 16 years old.
I've revisited it by pairing it with imagery that reflects where my mind was during its original creation, while staying true to the melody I remember singing along to when it evolved from a simple poem into a chorus.
I hope you resonate with the ache, the misunderstanding, the longing to be seen for who you truly are, and the hope of finding kindred signals out there that recognize you... that can and will hold you.
**Heads up:** when the poem become and transition into a chorus, the audio volume drops quite a bit, so you'll likely need to turn it up for that section. I'll be fixing that in a future version, but for now it works best with headphones—especially since there's a subtle touch of ASMR woven throughout the piece.
